PHILADELPHIA, Friday, September 13, 2024—FS Investments colleagues joined hundreds of corporate volunteers for the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP) Helping Hands Community Care Challenge. Participants assembled activity kits, packed bags with supplies and gathered hygiene kits in a high-energy, high-impact day of service to help bring resources, kindness and comfort to patients and their families.

“Volunteering at CHOP’s Helping Hands event was an incredibly rewarding and personal experience for me,” said Laura Hubbard, CPM Support Analyst at FS Investments. “My brother spent much of my childhood fighting brain tumors, and CHOP gave him the chance to live a healthy life. He’s now raising his family and thriving. I wanted to get involved to give back to a hospital that has meant so much to my family. Being able to make a real impact while connecting with colleagues who share the same passion for helping others made the day truly unforgettable.”

FS Investments was proud to partner with individuals from organizations across the region to dedicate time and resources to support a best-in-class hospital that sets the standard for excellence in pediatric healthcare.

“Having three children who are consistently looking for new ways of injuring themselves, it’s nice knowing we have a premier children’s hospital right down the street,” added Chris Mericle, Executive Director, Engineering & Technology at FS Investments. “Volunteering to help an organization that does so much good for the children in our community was an easy decision, and getting to spend time with and meet new colleagues as part of that made it even better.”

Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP) is the nation’s first hospital devoted exclusively to the care of children. Built on a foundation of delivering safe, high-quality, family-centered care, the hospital has fostered medical innovations that have improved pediatric health care and saved countless children’s lives.
