PHILADELPHIA, September 20, 2023 – FS Investments volunteers recently partnered with Teach for America Greater Philadelphia and Read by the 4th to support Reading Promise Week, an annual family literacy festival in Philadelphia. Volunteers sorted and packed over 2,000 bags of books and reading materials for distribution to families across 70+ citywide events.
“Teach For America has set a ten-year goal focused on literacy, and as such, we are excited to partner with FS Investments, a firm that doubles down on supporting community education programs,” said Anna Shurak, Executive Director of Teach for America Greater Philadelphia. “I want to express my gratitude for the FS Investments volunteers who helped us prepare for Philadelphia’s Reading Promise Week in support of early childhood reading.”
Teach For America finds, develops and supports community-driven leaders so they can transform education and expand opportunity with children—starting in the classroom.
Read by the 4th is a citywide coalition of family, community and systems leaders supporting every child’s right to read. FS Investments is proud to work with both Teach for America and Read by the 4th to foster a love for reading and learning in the Philadelphia region.
