PHILADELPHIA, Friday, March 14, 2025 — FS Investments hosted and sponsored the Philadelphia Financial Scholars Teen Investors’ Summit in our Philadelphia Office. The Teen Investors’ Summit served as the kickoff event for an eight-week investing-focused enrichment program across high schools in the PFS Network.
“I loved participating in the Teen Investment Summit and leading the session on socially responsible Investing. I loved seeing students learn how to invest, not only in the stock market, but also in themselves, their communities and their values.”
–Ginevra Czech, Senior Vice President of Client Value-Add Programs.
Volunteers from FS Investments and other local companies shared their expertise in learning sessions, connected with students during lunch and assisted these future investors with their simulated Stock Trak portfolios.
“What the Philadelphia Financial Scholars program is doing is awesome—They’re taking opportunities that I was only offered during senior year of college in advanced courses and bringing them to curious high school students, allowing them to build strong investment knowledge foundations early. It’s great being a part of PFS’ mission; having students learn in these hands-on ways is much more impactful than traditional instruction.”
–Andrew Katz, Associate, Business Unit Management.
FS Investments was proud to partner with PFS for day of impact and inspiration, helping students build investment knowledge and explore careers in finance.
“Volunteering for the PFS Teen Investment Summit was a wonderful experience, I really enjoyed speaking on the Young Professionals Panel and being able to serve as a resource to the attendees. It was a great opportunity to share insights and give advice to the next generation. I volunteered because I believe in the mission of the Philadelphia Financial Scholars and think it’s an invaluable program that more schools should focus on to help prepare students for success in the financial industry.”
–Soliana Tessema, Associate, Account Manager, FSIS National Accounts.
Students will manage a virtual portfolio over the next eight weeks, gaining hands-on experience in stock market investing, learning financial strategies and taking their financial literacy to the next level.
“Philadelphia Financial Scholars is doing important work empowering the students in our local communities. Executive Director Kerry Wagner Woodward has done an unbelievable job driving the organization to meet its mission, and the inaugural Teen Investment Summit really encapsulated that. The students were fully engaged and interested in learning about the industry. It was rewarding to get to contribute to the summit. Hopefully the students were able to take something away from the programming to utilize in their lives moving forward.”
–Eddie Kim, Senior Associate, Corporate Strategy.
