PHILADELPHIA – September 06, 2022 – FS Investments recently announced the creation of a multiyear scholarship and internship program in partnership with the Community College of Philadelphia (CCP). The scholarship provides two CCP students with full tuition coverage for up to two years as well as a paid internship at FS Investments. In addition to alleviating the financial pressure of higher education, the program offers students opportunities to explore the business world, gain valuable networking opportunities and learn about potential career paths.
The FS Foundation, the philanthropic arm of FS Investments, was founded by CEO Michael Forman with a mission to give back to the greater community through volunteerism, charitable giving and board service. Much of the FS Foundation’s work focuses on education and on providing financial literacy, entrepreneurship and career development opportunities for future generations—especially for minority and underrepresented communities across the Philadelphia area. The CCP scholarship program was built with this core mission in mind.
“We really need to think about how we educate the next generation of Philadelphians,” said Forman in his speech announcing the scholarship, “how we prepare them for the 21st century, and how we grow Black and Brown businesses. I look forward to working with these talented students and continuing to partner with the college for many years to come.”
Forman has fostered a long-standing relationship with CCP. Earlier this summer, Forman was awarded the Corporate Leadership Award at the College Foundation’s 2022 Black & Gold Gala for his dedication to community involvement, raising more than $900,000 for the college.
CCP President Dr. Donald “Guy” Generals remarked of the scholarship:

FS Investments has hosted an array of collaborative internship programs over the years, including an experienceship program for local high school students. The newly formed program with CCP is yet another opportunity for the firm to meaningfully contribute to shaping the next generation of community leaders.
