FS Investments Employees Volunteer at Greater Philadelphia King Day of Service

January 25, 2022

PHILADELPHIA – January 25, 2022 – On Monday, January 17, several FS Investments’ employees, and their families volunteered their time at the 27th annual Greater Philadelphia King Day of Service at Girard College. The FS Foundation, the philanthropic arm of FS Investments, also provided financial support to the event.

Todd Bernstein, Founder and Director, organized the nation’s first King Day of Service event in Philadelphia in 1996. Since that first event, which drew nearly 1,000 volunteers, the Day of Service has grown to include as many as 135,000 volunteers completing over 1,800 different service projects across Philadelphia. After conducting the event virtually in 2021, the King Day of Service resumed its in-person volunteer opportunities this year.

This year, FS volunteers helped staff a COVID vaccine and testing clinic for underserved Philadelphians at Girard College in North Philadelphia.

“It was great to be back in person at Girard College on Monday for the King Day of Service,” said Bernstein. “This event would not be possible without all our sponsors and hard-working volunteers and sponsors. We greatly appreciate FS Investments’ continued financial support and volunteer assistance at our annual event. Thank you to Michael Forman, and all the other FS employees for volunteering and supporting a great cause.”

Michael Forman, CEO of FS Investments, added, “FS Investments was proud to support the King Day of Service once again in 2021 and to do our small part to continue Dr. King’s legacy of service and civic duty. Thank you to Todd Bernstein and everyone who helped make this year’s Day of Service at Girard College so special. I personally found volunteering at the event with members of my family, my FS colleagues and many others to be incredibly rewarding, and I look forward to continuing our partnership in the future.”
