FS Investments is pleased to announce that Managing Director and General Counsel Stephen Sypherd was named General Counsel of the Year at The Philadelphia Inquirer’s 2019 Influencers of Law Awards.
Each year, the publication highlights influential lawyers from various sectors in the Philadelphia region. A panel of experts reviewed nominations based on accomplishments in specialized practice, business impact, and civic and community services. Winners were featured in a special section of Sunday’s Inquirer and honored at a reception at Philadelphia’s Crystal Tea Room on March 26.

In his role at FS Investments, Mr. Sypherd is responsible for legal matters at the holding company, its investment funds and affiliated investment advisers. He currently serves on the Board of Trustees of the University of the Arts, chairs its audit committee and serves on its governance committee. Mr. Sypherd also serves on the Steering Committee of the Philadelphia Fund Alliance, a non-profit organization that raises funds for charities in the greater Philadelphia area, and is Secretary of the FS Foundation, the philanthropic arm of FS Investments.
